44% of US voters believe war with China is likely in the next 5 years: poll

A new poll has revealed that 44 percent of Americans believe the US will go to war against China in the next five years, an even split against those who don’t believe the nations will engage in battle.

The Rasmussen poll found that 15 percent of US likely voters said the event is very likely and 29 percent said it was somewhat likely. In contrast, 29 percent said the event was not very likely and 15 percent said it was not at all likely. 12 percent of voters were not sure.

This is down from February, when 48 percent said it was very likely or somewhat lively.

Split by political parties, Democrats were more likely to say war with China would not happen, with a combined 50 percent saying that this was not very likely or not likely at all, compared to 37 percent who said it was somewhat likely or very likely.
